Professor Yu Fan of the School of Journalism and Communication won the Outstanding Achievement Award for Scientific Research of Universities and Young Achievement Award

The Ministry of Education announced the list of awards of the 8th Outstanding Achievements in Scientific Research in Colleges and Universities ( Humanities and Social sciences). Professor Yu Fan of the School of Journalism and Communication won the Youth Achievement Award for his work Ta Kung Pao restudy.

Ta Kung Pao Restudy, written by Yu Fan, was published on the basis of a number of periodical achievements, five of which were published in authoritative journals of the discipline, including three in Journalism and Communication Studies and two in International Journalism. In fact, the book has also won the second prize of the 32nd Social Science Outstanding Achievement Award in Shandong Province and other awards. Ta Kung Pao Restudy reexamines the history of the newspaper, makes a new evaluation of this important private newspaper in modern history, and puts forward a new idea on how to evaluate the relationship between the private newspaper and the government in modern history.

The establishment of Awards for Outstanding Achievements in University Scientific Research (Humanities and Social Sciences) is an important measure to commend and reward the outstanding achievements of university philosophy and social sciences workers and to promote the construction of philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics in universities. Prof. Yu Fan's award reflects the improvement of the scientific research level and overall strength of the young teachers in the School of Journalism and Communication. It also enhances confidence and accumulates experience for the acceleration of discipline construction in our school.
