Yu Fan

Yu Fan, male, Han nationality, born on October 2, 1979, PhD in communication. From July 2005 to August 2018, he worked in the journalism department of Ocean University of China as assistant professor, lecturer and associate professor. In August 2018, he transferred to the school of journalism and communication of Shandong University and was employed as "Qilu young scholar", professor and doctoral student’s tutor. In current he also serves as the executive director of the Chinese Association for History of Journalism and Mass Communication (CAHJC) on the Party Newspaper .

 

Until October 2019, he published more than 30 papers on various academic journals including 11 papers on CSSCI,as well as one book.In addition, he undertook more than 10 projects such as the late-stage funding project of the National Social Science Fund of China, youth fund project for Humanities and Social Science of the Ministry of Education, the basic business expenses project of the central higher school of Ocean University of China, and the project of education department of Shandong Province.

 

Main experiences:

In 2000,he graduated from the Department of Information and Computer Science, School of Mathematics and Systematic Science of Shandong University with a bachelor’s degree in science.

In 2005,he graduated from the Department of Journalism and Communication, School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Xiamen University with a master's degree in journalism.

Since July 2005, he worked for the journalism department of Ocean University of China.

From September 2009 to July 2012, He studied in the School of Journalism and Communication of Xiamen University under Professor Xu Qingmao’s guidance and received a doctorate .

From July to August 2011, he went to the Communication College of Taiwan Mingchuan University for short-term academic exchange.

He became associate professor of Ocean University of China in January 2014.

From July to August 2017, he went to UCLA for short-term academic exchange.

(1) the History of Chinese Journalism;

(2) Journalism Theory

 

Research Project Status:

Late-stage funded project of the National Social Science Fund of China in 2015: Preliminary Study on Intelligence Activities of Modern Japanese Reporters in China (Approval No.: 15FXW008, with a funding of 200,000 yuan), completed.Youth Fund Project for Humanities and Social Science of the Ministry of Education in 2013: A Re-study of new "Ta Kung Pao" -an Investigation Centered on "Chiang Kai-shek's Archives" (Approval No.: 13YJC860038, 80,000 RMB), completed.
