On the afternoon of October 27, the postgraduate chorus competition named "Celebrating the 70th anniversary of PRC by making unremitting efforts in the new era" of SDU in 2019 was held in the Saint Kunlun Concert Hall of the central campus. There are altogether 32 postgraduate training units of SDU participating in the chorus competition for expressing their patriotic feelings and celebrating the 70th anniversary of PRC. The delegation of SJC finally won the top grade award in the chorus competition by 98.74 points. Zheng Kexin, the impresario of SJC’s delegation, was also awarded as the best impresario in this competition.

The repertoire selected by SJC is mixed chorus named "Good News of Beijing was Delivered to the Frontier Village", characterized by passionate rhythm, charismatic melody and technical difficulty, which puts forward higher requirements for the vocal capabilities and performing skills of the SJC’s students. In the competition, the delegation of SJC, dressed in traditional ethnic minority costumes of Southwest China, vividly recreated the ecstasy atmosphere and future-oriented vitality of people residing in frontier village after hearing the good news coming from Beijing, so as to extend good wishes to PRC and celebrate the 70th anniversary of New China by their melodious singing and out-flowing enthusiasm.
